• <br /> DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET NARRATIVE <br /> FUND: General <br /> DEPARTMENT: Golf Course <br /> DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVE: <br /> The objective of the Golf Course is to provide a quality leisure <br /> recreational facility for residents to enjoy- Also the golf <br /> course is intended to be a gemstone of the community, emitting a <br /> good image to the City of Mounds View. The golf course will be a <br /> self-supporting enterprise fund facility. <br /> DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> The golf course activities will include initial construction of <br /> the course. During this time a Golf Course Superintendent will <br /> be hired to assist with the on-site construction supervision and <br /> "bull-dogging" . Once the course is constructed, a grow-in time <br /> will be in effect at which time the course will need to be <br /> maintained with seasonal workers, but at which time the course <br /> will not be in operation. Once the grow-in time is complete, the <br /> course will be open for operation. <br /> DEPARTMENT GOALS <br /> Golf course goals for this initial year is to complete a quality <br /> course through excellent planning and architectural services, and <br /> excellent—construction to be completed within the budgeted <br /> amount. <br /> DEPARTMENT EXPENDITURE COMMENTS <br /> The golf course will be funded with the sale of revenue bonds. <br /> The City will up-front money to be paid back with interest from <br /> the golf course pay-back program. Profits received from the golf <br /> course operation throughout the years will be used for the <br /> continued improvement and maintenance of the golf course. <br />
