Item No: 08C <br />Meeting Date: December 8, 2008 <br />Type of Business: Consent <br />Administrator Review: Yes <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, Community Development Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7377 Approving a Consultant Services <br />Agreement with the Greater Metropolitan Housing <br />Corporation for Housing Resource Center Services in <br />2009 <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />The City of Mounds View and its residents have benefitted from the services provided and <br />managed by the Housing Resource Center since 2001. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The Housing Resource Center (HRC) is a division of the Greater Metropolitan Housing <br />Corporation (GMHC) whose stated mission is to preserve, improve and increase <br />affordable housing for low and moderate income families, as well as to assist <br />communities with housing revitalization. The HRC provides construction management <br />consultations, program administration, provides information on a variety of relevant <br />housing programs and coordinates and manages several grant and loan programs <br />geared toward home improvement and renovation. As the Council may recall, the HRC <br />agreed last year to manage the City’s Housing Replacement Program’s demolition <br />reimbursement component as part of the agreement, at no additional cost to the City. <br /> <br />The fee for this contracted service is $11,000 which is reflected in the draft 2009 EDA <br />budget 230-4650-3030. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Approve Resolution 7377 which approves a consultant services agreement with the <br />Greater Metropolitan Housing Corporation for Housing Resource Center Services in <br />2009. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br />James Ericson <br />Clerk - Administrator
