Local 232 <br />(Sergeants) <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City has been meeting with Local 232 of LELS which represents the Mounds View <br />Sergeants in an effort to formalize a labor agreement for 2008 and 2009. At the last possible <br />opportunity, the City and the Sergeants came to an agreement on the terms of the 2008 – <br />2009 labor agreement. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The revised contract includes the following provisions: <br /> <br />Wages: 3.0% January 1, 2008 <br />3.0% January 1, 2009 <br /> <br />Insurance: 2008 Employer Contribution - $782.20 <br />2009 Employer Contribution – $832.20 <br />This is the same amount offered to non-union personnel and accepted by Public <br />Works, AFSCME and LELS 204. <br /> <br />Uniform Allowance: no increase. <br /> <br />Retirement Health Savings Plan <br /> <br />In addition to the standard RHSP language with the floating cap of an extra 20 hours <br />eligible for payout per year of completed service beyond ten years (provision applicable <br />for only one of the three Sergeants), the group elected to contribute 100 percent of their <br />sick leave to the RHSP at separation. Employees who separate with less than twenty <br />years of service would receive vacation and comp time as a taxable lump sum <br />severance, while those with twenty or more years of service would direct vacation and <br />comp time into their RHSP. <br /> <br />Holiday Language <br /> <br />No change. <br /> <br />Duration January 1, 2008 – December 31, 2009. <br /> <br />Wage and insurance contribution adjustments will be made retroactive to January 1, 2008.
