Mounds View City Council November 24, 2008 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Approve Resolution 7366 in Opposition to Proposed 1 <br />Runway Extension at the Anoka County-Blaine Airport and Opposition to Legislative Efforts to 2 <br />Reclassify the Airport as an Intermediate Status. 3 <br /> 4 <br /> 5 <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson read Resolution 7366. 6 <br /> 7 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Stigney asked that the Resolution be sent to surrounding communities in Anoka 10 <br />County. Administrator Ericson indicated he would do so. 11 <br /> 12 <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS 13 <br />A. 7:05 p.m. Public Hearing, Resolution 7369, a Resolution to Approve the 2009 14 <br />Mounds View Fee Schedule. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Clerk Administrator Ericson noted that staff is researching permit and fee information through 17 <br />Metro Cities so staff is recommending opening the public hearing and move to continue the 18 <br />hearing to the December 8, 2008 meeting to allow staff time to review the permits and licenses to 19 <br />ensure that the City’s fees are where they need to be. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Mayor Marty opened the public hearing. 22 <br /> 23 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Continue the Public Hearing to December 8, 2008. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />B. Resolution 7359, Approving Location of Sidewalk Along Red Oak Drive South 28 <br />of Hillview Road in the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Joe Rhein, consulting engineer with Bonestroo, provided an overview of the Red Oak Drive 31 <br />sidewalk reconstruction. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Mayor Marty noted that staff is in discussion with the property owner for the next easements 34 <br />needed for the trail and sidewalk along County Highway 10. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council Member Mueller asked the cost of the additional sidewalk to the project. Mr. Rhein 37 <br />indicated that it is approximately $13,000 for this segment of sidewalk. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Council Member Stigney asked the price difference between asphalt and concrete. Mr. Rhein 40 <br />indicated that typically the wider trails are usually asphalt and the others have been concrete. 41 <br />This is a very narrow sidewalk so there is not much of a cost difference with the bituminous and 42 <br />the concrete. 43 <br /> 44
