December 22, 2008 Item No. 7B <br />Page 3 <br />Cost Estimates <br />The following table shows a comparison between the estimated construction cost for the <br />improvements identified in the 1989 Drainage Report versus the 2008 Drainage Report. <br />Total Estimated Cost <br />Of Improvements <br />1989 Drainage Report $1,098,000 1, 2 <br />2008 Drainage Report $406,000 <br />1 – The costs from the 1989 Report have been inflated for comparison <br />2 – The costs from the 1989 Report do not include costs for the land <br /> acquisition or construction of the East Detention Pond. <br />From the table it can be seen that the alternative improvements proposed by the new <br />2008 Drainage Report are estimated to cost much less than the improvements proposed <br />by the 1989 Drainage Report. <br />Cost Impact on the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Program: <br />- The replacement of the segment of storm sewer on Red Oak Drive south of <br />Ardan Avenue has an estimated construction cost of $10,900 <br />Recommendation: <br />Resolution 7381 has been prepared to accept the Report on the Ardan Avenue Drainage <br />Subdistrict Analysis, approve its findings, and plan for the incorporation of the identified <br />improvements. The Resolution is attached to this Staff Report for consideration by the City <br />Council.
