Resolution 7214, Purchase of a Replacement Civil Defense Siren 11 <br /> 12 <br /> Council Member Flaherty asked Chief Sommer to provide information on the Civil Defense 13 <br />siren to be replaced. He also asked what residents should do if the sirens go off. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Chief Sommer indicated that residents should take cover immediately and access the radio for 16 <br />weather updates. 17 <br /> 18 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7214, 19 <br />Purchase of a Replacement Civil Defense Siren. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Mayor Marty noted that the battery backup would run these sirens for 15 minutes without power. 22 <br />He also said that radio activation can eliminate the need for dedicated control lines and then it 23 <br />states that antennae and cable are not included with any radio activation unless purchased 24 <br />separately. Mayor Marty asked whether the cost includes batteries because batteries are not 25 <br />included in the base price. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Chief Sommer indicated that everything needed to run the siren is included with the price listed. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if these batteries are rechargeable. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Chief Sommer indicated he was not absolutely sure on the technical information on the batteries 32 <br />but they do have a battery life date. 33 <br /> 34 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 35 <br /> 36 <br /> D. Resolution 7215, Acceptance and Final Payment Approval 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Stigney indicated that he has not been over to the Random Park Building for a 39 <br />while but, at that time, there were several items that needed to be resolved. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Public Works Director Lee indicated that everything that the contractor is responsible for have 42 <br />been completed. He then indicated that there are some things that the City has taken on with the 43 <br />interior of the building. 44 <br /> 45
