<br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br />PROCLAMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the manufacturing industry is a dynamic segment of Minnesota’s <br />economy, and an integral part of Minnesota’s economic development strategy; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, manufacturing has the second largest total payroll among business <br />sectors in Minnesota, providing $20 billion in wages; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, manufacturing contributed almost $48.2 billion to the Minnesota <br />economy in 2015, and is the second-largest industry (16 percent) contributing to our <br />private gross domestic product; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, manufactured exports brought $18.9 billion into the Minnesota <br />economy in 2015; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Manufacturing provides over 317,200 highly skilled, high paying <br />jobs, which significantly contribute to Minnesota’s high standard of living and economic <br />vitality. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, I Joe Flaherty, Mayor of Mounds View, do hereby <br />proclaim that, the week of October 2 to October 8, 2016 shall be observed as: <br /> <br />“MINNESOTA MANUFACTURING WEEK” <br /> <br />Given under my hand and Seal of the City of Mounds View, this 26th day of October, <br />2016. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(SEAL) ________________________ <br /> Joe Flaherty, Mayor
