<br />Item No: 2 <br />Meeting Date: November 2, 2015 <br />Type of Business: Work Session <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: James Ericson, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Review Services Provided by Northeast Youth and Family <br />Services <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />On November 12, 2015, the Northeast Youth & Family Services Board of Directors and <br />staff are having a strategic planning session to update the present strategic plan to focus <br />on possible changes become and remain a healthy organization. The Board has reached <br />out to constituents for feedback. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The Mounds View City Council has been asked to provide feedback to Jerry Hromatka, <br />President and CEO of Northeast Youth and Family Services, in regards to the following <br />three questions: <br /> <br />1) What unmet needs or emerging issues do you see facing youth, families, and adults in <br />our communities over the next 3 - 5 years? <br />2) What services do you want NYFS to consider adding over the next few years? <br />3) How can NYFS improve the support and services we currently provide? <br /> <br />To help collect and provide feedback, staff has reached out to a number of community <br />leaders and stakeholders who may be in a position to offer such feedback. Staff asked for <br />feedback in writing and invited all to attend the meeting on November 2 if they preferred to <br />provide feedback in person. The individuals contacted, noted on the following page, were <br />provided a two-page summary document outlining the three core service areas and the <br />noted programs in support of each. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Discuss possible unmet needs, potential additional services, and areas in which NYFS <br />services can be improved.
