<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 8265 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH PUMP AND METER SERVICE, INC. TO INSTALL AN <br />UNLEADED FUEL STATION AT THE PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE FACILITY <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment used by Public Works and the <br />Police Department are re-fueled off-site at various vendors in the city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, diesel powered vehicles and equipment are re-fueled on-site at the existing <br />diesel fueling station located at the Public Works Maintenance Facility, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff currently reads the diesel fuel used manually by the dial numbers on <br />the pump and record it on a paper log, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, At times the hand written logs and the tank monitor are off by 50 or more <br />gallons and staff has been informed that the state is going to require more accountability of fuel <br />usage and accurate reconciliation of fuel used, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The city by using the State contract for unleaded fuel, would see a <br />significant cost savings in fuel budgets of all the departments, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff has been working with two vendors to receive quotes on a new 3,000- <br />gallon unleaded gasoline fueling station and a new fuel management system that will <br />incorporate the current diesel tank monitoring system, and; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br /> <br />1.
