RESOLUTION 8265 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH PUMP AND METER SERVICE, INC. TO INSTALL AN UNLEADED FUEL STATION AT THE PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE FACILITY WHEREAS, gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment used by Public Works and the Police Department are re-fueled off-site at various vendors in the city; and WHEREAS, diesel powered vehicles and equipment are re-fueled on-site at the existing diesel fueling station located at the Public Works Maintenance Facility, and; WHEREAS, staff currently reads the diesel fuel used manually by the dial numbers on the pump and record it on a paper log, and; WHEREAS, At times the hand written logs and the tank monitor are off by 50 or more gallons and staff has been informed that the state is going to require more accountability of fuel usage and accurate reconciliation of fuel used, and; WHEREAS, The city by using the State contract for unleaded fuel, would see a significant cost savings in fuel budgets of all the departments, and; WHEREAS, Staff has been working with two vendors to receive quotes on a new 3,000- gallon unleaded gasoline fueling station and a new fuel management system that will incorporate the current diesel tank monitoring system, and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. The City Council accepts the quote that will award a contract to Pump and Meter Service, Inc of Hopkins, Minnesota for installation of a new unleaded fueling station and fuel management system at the Public Works Maintenance Facility.
