<br />Item No: 8A <br />Meeting Date: May 27, 2014 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Thomas Kinney, Chief of Police <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8263 to Approve a Mutual Aid Agreement Among <br />Cities within Ramsey County <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />The last mutual aid agreement approved by the cities in Ramsey County occurred in <br />1968. Therefore, it was decided among the cities to update the old agreement with <br />more current terms and conditions so that mutual aid can occur in order to provide the <br />most appropriate level of public safety in all the cities throughout Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />This agreement will address any immediate need for emergency assistance and their <br />respective law enforcement personnel by all of the following cities, as well as Ramsey <br />County, the City of Saint Paul, Saint Anthony Village, the City of North Saint Paul, the <br />City of Mounds View, the City of New Brighton, the City of Roseville, the City of <br />Maplewood and the City of White Bear Lake. <br /> <br />In order to protect the public peace and safety, preserve lives and the people in each <br />jurisdiction, all parties in the agreement agree to furnish assistance to one another in <br />the terms and conditions set forth in the agreement. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the Mutual Aid Agreement for all listed jurisdictions. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />__________________ <br />Thomas Kinney <br />Chief of Police <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
