Mounds View City Council April 28, 2014 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />Mayor Flaherty commented he received a letter from Abiding Savior Lutheran Church noting the 1 <br />congregation was celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. The church had a number of events 2 <br />planned to celebrate over the coming months. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Mayor Flaherty stated he received a letter from the Dragon Chase 5K Fun Run, which worked to 5 <br />combat ALS. He read the letter in full for the record. He sent out a special thanks to City staff 6 <br />and the Police Department for their assistance in keeping this event safe for the public. 7 <br /> 8 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 9 <br /> 10 <br />City Administrator Ericson reported the City received a grant from Center Point Energy in the 11 <br />amount of up to $2,500 for life health/safety issues. He commented the funds would be put 12 <br />toward the replacement of the City’s AED’s. 13 <br /> 14 <br />City Administrator Ericson indicated the City’s monument sign was up and running. It was 15 <br />noted the Planning Commission was addressing a sign code amendment which would allow for 16 <br />the City to better utilize the sign. 17 <br /> 18 <br />City Administrator Ericson reviewed the items that would be discussed at the upcoming 19 <br />worksession meeting. 20 <br /> 21 <br />City Administrator Ericson presented the Council with the final report received from Stantec for 22 <br />Crossroad Pointe. He explained the Council would be discussing this report in greater detail at a 23 <br />future worksession meeting. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Finance Director Beer stated he attended the League of Minnesota Cities Risk Management and 26 <br />Safety Workshop. 27 <br /> 28 <br />C. Reports of City Attorney. 29 <br /> 30 <br />City Attorney Riggs had nothing additional to report. 31 <br /> 32 <br />12.
