<br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8707 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AUTHORIZING THE HIRE OF KERRIE KANE TO THE POSITION OF <br />RECEPTIONIST / RECYCLING COORDINATOR, APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE <br />JOB DESCRIPTION AND PROVIDING REQUIRED PAYMENT TO OFFICETEAM <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the position of Receptionist / Recycling Coordinator became vacant on Oct <br />5, 2016, and shortly thereafter the City entered into an agreement with OfficeTeam for a <br />temporary worker while it began the process to fill the vacancy; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through OfficeTeam, Ms. Kerrie Kane began working with the City on <br />October 17, 2016, immediately offering much needed support and assistance; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during the general election early voting process, Ms. Kane demonstrated a <br />high level of initiative and work ethic, providing invaluable customer service support during this <br />time; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Kane’s skills, experience and abilities have proven to be a good match <br />for the City’s vacant Receptionist / Recycling Coordinator position; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed proposed revisions to the job description, <br />agreed that Ms. Kane would be a great addition to the City’s staff and directed the City <br />Administrator to negotiate with OfficeTeam in an effort to buy out Ms. Kane’s contract; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Kane has agreed to start at Step 4 of the pay scale (currently $22.70 <br />per hour) with an increase to Step 5 of the salary range after one year of employment, subject to <br />a satisfactory performance evaluation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff has conducted background checks on Ms. Kane with satisfactory <br />results; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Kane would begin employment on or about March 1, 2017. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints Ms. <br />Kerrie Kane to the position of Receptionist / Recycling Coordinator, a full-time, non-exempt, non- <br />union position, at Step 4 of the pay scale (currently $22.70 per hour). <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />does hereby approve the proposed revisions to the Receptionist / Recycling Coordinator <br />position description. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council <br />directs staff to compensate OfficeTeam in the amount of $6,610 for their negotiated conversion <br />fee. <br />
