Mounds View City Council April 10, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 8 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Gunn stated last Saturday the Irondale drumline won their second consecutive 2 <br />state championship receiving the highest overall score at this event. She indicated the drumline 3 <br />was now preparing for the world championship with a free send-off performance this Saturday, 4 <br />April 15th at 7:00 p.m. at Irondale High School. She explained this group would enter the world 5 <br />competition rated second in the country in their class. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked Public Works Director Erickson for inviting the City 8 <br />Council to participate in the ground breaking ceremony for the new Public Works Facility last 9 <br />Friday. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Meehlhause noted he would be attending two NYFS meetings this week. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mayor Mueller invited the public to attend the next Festival in the Park Committee meeting on 14 <br />Tuesday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. She explained this group was still seeking 15 <br />volunteers to assist with planning this year’s event. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mayor Mueller encouraged residents to consider participating in the Mounds View 60th 18 <br />Anniversary Celebration. More information regarding this committee could be gained by 19 <br />contacting City Hall. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Mayor Mueller noted she would be attending the Minnesota Mayors Conference at the end of 22 <br />April in Brainerd, Minnesota. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Mueller indicated four out of the five Council Members would be attending the League of 25 <br />Minnesota Cities Annual Conference June 14th through June 16th in Rochester, Minnesota. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Public Works Director Erickson indicated the spring road restrictions would be lifted at midnight 30 <br />on Thursday, April 13th. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Public Works Director Erickson stated work on Area I would begin shortly after the road 33 <br />restrictions were lifted. He reported that notices were sent to residents and explained that 34 <br />mailboxes would be relocated. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Public Works Director Erickson provided the Council with an update on the County Road H and 37 <br />I-35W project. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Public Works Director Erickson thanked the Councilmembers for attending the groundbreaking 40 <br />ceremony last Friday for the new Public Works Facility. 41 <br /> 42 <br />City Administrator Ericson discussed the recent alarm event that occurred in Dallas, Texas. He 43 <br />explained that he had been in contact with individuals from the County regarding this event to 44 <br />discuss the security of the County’s emergency siren systems. 45
