Resolution to Consider an Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewal 9 <br />for ABC Liquor, located at 2840 Mounds View Boulevard (this item will 10 <br />be continued to the next City Council Meeting) 11 <br /> 12 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated all liquor license renewals require approval by Public 13 <br />Hearing. She explained ABC Liquor has an off-sale liquor license with the City that will expire 14 <br />on June 30, 2017. She reported all liquor license materials were due to the City on Monday, May 15 <br />15th. Staff did not receive any information from ABC Liquor and advised the Council this 16 <br />establishment was under new ownership. She was confident ABC Liquor would have their 17 <br />paperwork into the City by June 12th. For these reasons, staff recommended the Public Hearing 18 <br />be opened and continued to the Monday, June 12, 2017 City Council meeting. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Mayor Mueller opened the public hearing at 7:43 p.m. 21 <br /> 22 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Continue the Public Hearing on ABC Liquor’s 23 <br />Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License to the June 12, 2017 City Council Meeting at 6:00 p.m. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br />2. Resolution 8761, a Resolution to Consider an Off-Sale Intoxicating 28 <br />Liquor License Renewal for Merwin Liquors, located at 2577 Mounds 29 <br />View Boulevard. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reported Merwin Liquors has met all requirements under City 32 <br />Code for their Off-Sale Intoxicating Liquor license, except their compliance check. She stated 33 <br />unfortunately, Merwin Liquors had an employee that sold to a minor. This employee was 34 <br />terminated immediately and all other employees had received additional training. Staff 35 <br />recommended the Council hold a Public Hearing and approve an Off-Sale liquor license for 36 <br />Merwin Liquors. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned when the violation occurred. Assistant City 39 <br />Administrator Crane reported the violation occurred during a Mounds View Police Department 40 <br />sponsored compliance check.
