RESOLUTION 8770 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE 2017 TWIN CITIES GATEWAY <br />MEMBER CITY MARKETING GRANT <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds of View is a member of the local Convention and Tourism <br />Bureau, Twin Cities Gateway; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View has enacted a tax on lodging within the City to help <br />fund Twin Cities Gateway, along with eight other member cities, in accordance with Minnesota <br />Statutes Section 469.190; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Twin Cities Gateway Member City Marketing Grant program provides each <br />member city with an annual grant based on the percentage of lodging taxes collected from the <br />prior year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, upon the executed “Mounds View 2017 Member City Grant Agreement” <br />between Twin Cities Gateway and the City of Mounds View, the City will receive $7,964.00 in <br />grant funding in 2017; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is responsible to disperse the grant funds to the <br />community festival(s) and/or events that the City wants to support; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the grant funds shall be used for marketing and promotional efforts that <br />extend beyond the City’s borders in order to draw tourists to the community, <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does hereby <br />accept the 2017 Twin Cities Gateway Member City Marketing Grant in the amount of $6,964.00, <br />for the marketing and promotion of the August 19, 2017, Mounds View Festival in the Park <br />Celebration. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council <br />does hereby accept the 2017 Twin Cities Gateway Member City Marketing Grant in the amount <br />of $1,000.00, to use for the marketing and promotion of the Mounds View Community Center – <br />Banquet Center. <br /> <br />Adopted this 12th day of June, 2017 <br /> <br /> <br /> ____________________________________ <br /> Carol A.
