After <br />several months of discussion and research, the EDC took action and recommended that <br />the EDA consider distributing a Branding Services and Public Communications/Marketing <br />Plan Request for Proposals (RFP). Below is a project timeline that begins with the EDA’s <br />authorization of the RFP. <br /> <br />2008 <br />May EDA authorized distribution of branding Request for Proposals (RFP) <br />June City staff received ten proposals/narrowed proposals to three consultants <br />Mid-July EDA authorized City staff to interview top three consultants <br />Late July EDA authorized a contract for services with Risdall Marketing Group <br />Aug. Risdall attended EDC meeting to solicit input for survey questions <br />Sept. Risdall interviewed City staff, EDC member and Councilmember to help <br />develop survey questions <br />Early Oct. EDA reviewed Risdall’s research plan, schedule and discussed Mounds <br />View’s current image & identity <br />Late Oct. “Residents Image Survey” was distributed to residents in City utility bills & <br />the online survey tool became “live” <br />Late Nov. A project update was provided to the Council <br />Nov/Dec. Risdall initiated developer/real estate broker phone interviews <br />Mid-Dec. “Residents Image Survey” online survey tool was “closed” <br />Mid-Dec. “Business Operators Survey” was sent directly to Mounds View businesses <br />& the online survey tool became “live” (the hard copy survey is attached) <br />Dec. 31 “Business Operators Survey” online survey tool was “closed” <br /> <br />
