The City would have no control over conveying the messages that the logo is supposed to convey. Not everyone is going to agree. The public won't be designing the items where the logo would appear. Staff presented one final version to the Council. Everyone was indifferent about the logo (they either liked it or hated it or didn't care). In the end, the logo was about how the City wants to portray itself. The City wanted people to look at the logo and say "That's St. Louis Park". They focused on their tagline. Why go through the branding process and then go to public (that defeats the purpose)?
