City Council Work Session <br />8271 Long Lake Rd <br />June 1, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Below are several items that the City Council should consider when discussing Ms. <br />Sullivan’s inquiry: <br /> <br />City-Owned Property Next Door <br />The EDA used its Housing Replacement Program in 1997 to purchase and demolish a <br />house located at 8283 Long Lake Road. This vacant parcel is immediately north of Ms. <br />Sullivan’s property (see aerial photo on previous page). <br /> <br />Acquisition Eligibility <br />Ms. Sullivan’s property is on the list of parcels eligible for acquisition as part of the EDA’s <br />“Project Plan for the Mounds View Economic Development Project”. The “Project Plan” is <br />a legal document that outlines the EDA’s development and redevelopment plans as <br />authorized per State Statute. <br /> <br />Current Zoning <br />The current zoning of this area is Single-Family Residential. <br /> <br />Existing & Future Land Use <br />As shown below on the left, the existing land use of this area is Single-Family Detached <br />(SFD), Natural Open Space (OSN), Passive Open Space (OSP) and <br />Vacant/Undeveloped (VAC). <br /> <br />Also below is the future land use of this area (as stated in the 2008 Comprehensive Plan). <br />The map shows the future land use in the area as Single-Family Detached (SFD) and <br />Passive Open Space (OSP). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Existing Land Use <br /> <br />Future Land Use <br /> <br /> <br />
