In the event of a tie, the Secretary Chair shall announce the nominees tied, and <br />the nomination process shall be repeated until an election occurs. in the voting and balloting <br />shall be repeated until an election occurs. If only one nomination has been received, the Chair <br />may conduct the voting by voice vote. If a majority of the members present vote in the <br />affirmative for the nominee, the nominee shall be elected. <br />Section 2. OFFICER VACANCIES: Cable Committee members must fill vacancies <br />occurring in the officers’ positions. <br />Section 3. DUTIES OF OFFICERS: <br />a) Chair: The Chair shall preside at all meeting of the Cable Committee. The Chair shall <br />serve under the supervision and direction of the Committee. The Chair shall have the <br />powers and perform duties that the Committee may from time to time prescribe. <br />b) Vice-Chair: The Vice-Chair shall preside over meetings and perform the authorities and <br />duties of the Chair in the event of the latter’s absence, death, disqualification, or incapacity <br />until the Cable Committee elects a new Chair. The Vice-Chair shall exercise and perform <br />such other duties as may be prescribed from time to time by the Committee. <br />c) Secretary: The Secretary shall perform roll call during Cable Committee meetings, and <br />draft and provide Minutes to the Cable Committee. The Secretary shall also tally the <br />ballots for election of Cable Committee Officers. <br />Section 4. ABSENCE OF OFFICERS: In the event of the absence of both the <br />chairperson and vice-chairperson, those members present shall elect a temporary chairperson to <br />preside over the meeting. <br />Section 5. REMOVAL FROM OFFICE: An appointed member of the Cable Committee <br />may be removed from office for just cause and on written charges by at least four-fifths (4/5) vote of <br />the entire City Council. Such member may be entitled to a public hearing before such vote is taken. <br />It shall be the duty of the Chair to notify the City Council promptly of any vacancies occurring in <br />membership. The City Council shall fill such vacancies for the unexpired term of the original <br />appointment. <br /> <br />ARTICLE IV <br />MEETINGS OF THE CABLE COMMITTEE <br />Section 1. REGULAR SET MEETINGS: At the first meeting of the year, the <br />members shall set a meeting schedule for the remainder of the year. Changes to the published <br />meeting schedule shall be noticed at least three (3) days prior to the changed meeting date. <br />Regular or special meetings may be canceled by the Chairperson, Clerk-Administrator or the <br />Assistant City Clerk-Administrator in the event that there are no items of business requiring the <br />attention of the Committee, or for lack of a quorum, or in response to inclement weather or for <br />any other good and sufficient reason. Members of the Committee shall be notified by telephone <br />of any meeting cancelation.
