Ms. Samantha Orduno 5 August 13 , 1993
Our report would provide recommendations regarding a work scope for a
Phase II ESA, if any. Three copies of the report will be submitted to
you.
C. HYDROGEOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
Significant amounts of water are typically required for golf course
maintenance and upkeep, primarily for watering of the fairways and
greens. The potable water supply for the club house and maintenance
building would be supplied by the City of Mounds View. As discussed at
the Golf Course Task Force Meeting, possible sources of water for
course upkeep would include City water, special wells drilled as a non-
potable source, or pumping from open ponds. If non-potable wells are
used, a series of shallow wells may be feasible, as opposed to a more
expensive, deep, high yield well.
Pumping from open ponds may also be feasible. If this alternative is
chosen, the designers would typically require information regarding the
amount of drawdown that would occur for a given rate of pumping in a
given pond. This would require analysis of the nature and permeability
of the subsoils, and calculations of the rate of drawdown and recharge.
We propose to extend some of the geotechnical borings deeper, to obtain
subsurface information for design of one or more shallow wells. We
would also obtain information regarding the nearby municipal well. We
would review the data, and based on the water needs determined by the
Architect, analyze whether pumping from shallow wells and/or ponds is
feasible.
Pees
Based on the scope of services described above, the fees for our
services would be as follows.
A. Geotechnical exploration and
report $ 1, 980
B. Phase I Environmental Site
Assessment $ 2 , 000
C. Hydrogeological Analysis $ 3 , 000 to $5, 000
If additional borings or deeper borings are needed, or if engineering
and testing are requested beyond that required for preparation of our
report, the additional charges would be billed at the unit rates shown
on the enclosed fee schedule.
