DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET NARRATIVE <br />FUND: General <br />DEPARTMENT: Elections <br />DEPARnIENT OBJECTIVE <br />The objective of the Elections Department is to provide for fair and efficient federal, <br />state and county and municipal elections. <br />DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES <br />The Election Department Budget funds those election activities of the City which <br />includes the maintenance of voting and ballot counting equipment, supplies, and <br />administration services and election judges for the biannual elections. <br />DEPARTMENT GOALS <br />The goal of the Elections Department is to provide the personnel, equipment and <br />supplies necessary to conduct efficient and legal elections. <br />1994 DEPARTMENT EXPENDITURE COMMENTS <br />In the last several years, personnel expenditures have declined because of the <br />coordination of the City incorporating the previously designated four voting precincts <br />into one City-wide precinct. This action, approved in 1992, reduced hot the number <br />and expenditures for election judges. <br />
