DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET NARRATIVE <br />FWD: General <br />DEPARTMENT: Legal <br />DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVE <br />The Legal Department provides all general legal assistance and prosecution to the <br />City. <br />DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES <br />The City Attorney provides general legal assistance to the City and the City <br />Prosecutor prosecutes all misdemeanor offenses. <br />DEPARTMENT GOALS <br />The goal of the City Attorney and City Prosecutor is to provide the best legal advice <br />and service to the Ciry. <br />1994 DEPARTMENT EXPENDITURE COMMENTS <br />The expenditures for the general legal and prosecution have been reduced for 1994. <br />The reduction is a result of a more prudent use of the City Attorney's time and an <br />anticipated decline in City prosecutions. although the per hour fee for general legal <br />services were increased in 1994 from S90/bour to S95/hour, it is not anticipated that <br />this increase will adversely impact the projected expenditures. unless the City has <br />unforseen and unavoidable legal concerns. <br />
