• <br /> DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET NARRATIVE <br /> FUND: General <br /> DEPARTMENT: Emergency Services <br /> DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVE <br /> The Emergency Services Department objective is to maintain emergency plans and <br /> preparedness of the City Staff for dealing with all possible natural and man-made <br /> emergencies. <br /> DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES • <br /> The Emergency Services Department, staffed on a one-fourth basis by the Police <br /> Lieutenant, works with the other Emergency Response Agencies in Ramsey County <br /> to develop plans for responding to all potential emergencies, files required plans and <br /> reports with the State and Federal Government and maintains a level of in-house <br /> preparedness for dealing with emergencies of a larger scale. <br /> • DEPARTMENT GOALS <br /> The goal of the Department is to maintain a constant level of readiness for handling <br /> natural and man-made disasters in the City and as a mutual aid responder. <br /> DEPARTMENT EXPENDITURE COMMENTS <br /> In recognition of actual time spent on Emergency Services, the Police Lieutenant's <br /> wages and benefits charged to this Department have been reduced to one-fourth. <br /> 41 <br />
