Consideration of Resolution No. 4445 Approving the Master Plan for <br /> the Golf Course • <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, explained that the Golf Course <br /> Task Force has finalized the plans for the design of the proposed <br /> golf course and the architect has prepared the MasterPlan which <br /> details the T's, greens' fairways, bunkers and other design <br /> elements. Orduno explained that the Master Plan will serve as the <br /> framework from which the course will be constructed. <br /> Orduno introduced Ron Schmidt, Mark Malone, Jerry Peterson, who are <br /> members of the Golf Course Task Force and were in the audience at <br /> this meeting. Orduno made mention of the other members of the Task <br /> Force which included Phyllis Blanchard and Gary Quick as staff <br /> liaison, Tim Smith, Phil Sipe and Gary Stevenson, not in attendance. <br /> Orduno thanked the Golf Course Task Force for a commendable job in <br /> in working on the golf course and moving a dream into a reality. <br /> Jerry Peterson, member of the Golf Course Task Force, stated that <br /> the charge of the Golf Course Task Force was to look for a use for <br /> the property. The Task Force looked into the feasibility of a golf <br /> course for this property that would be financially viable and would <br /> not be a financial burden to the City. The Task Force looked at all <br /> types of courses to fit the land. It was decided that a 9 hole <br /> Executive Course with a driving range would be the best suited for <br /> the land. This course could be used by a beginner golfer, an <br /> intermediate golfer and a quick game for the advanced golfer. <br />
