8. Agent for Construction. The Member -Departments <br />specifically authorize the City of Fridley to act as the <br />Agent for Construction of the facility on their behalf. <br />The Agent for Construction is empowered to commission <br />designs for the facility according to the specifications <br />approved by the Chiefs' Board. Following approval by the <br />Chiefs' Board, the Agent for Construction shall cause <br />bids to be taken for the construction and shall present <br />the final bids to the Chiefs' Board for ratification. <br />Once the bids and specifications have been approved by <br />the Chiefs' Board, the Agent for Construction shall have <br />the power to award the contracts and bind the Member <br />Departments to the contracts so awarded. <br />9. Repairs and Improvements. If recommended by the <br />operations Committee and approved by the Chiefs' Board in <br />advance and ratified by each of the Member Department's <br />City Councils, all major repairs, replacements, <br />additions/improvemencs shall be equally assessed against <br />each Member Department. <br />lo. Insurance. The Association shall purchase policy(ies) of <br />insurance in forms and amounts to protect its insurable <br />interests in the value of the site's improvements against <br />perils of fire, theft, vandalism and Acts of God, and to <br />protect the financial interests of the Association, <br />parties, their agents and employees, against all claims <br />or lawzuits, including expenses and attorney fees, <br />—4— <br />
