6/91 <br />4.3 MAINTENANCE GUIDE <br />Mounds View, Minnesota <br />Management Program for <br />Maintenance Guide <br />Revised December 1989 <br />Information for: <br />City Engineer <br />Maintenance Personnel <br />PRACTICE: Bi-annual inspection of all wetland <br />areas and ditches. <br />MINIMUM STANDARD: Brief walking inspection to record <br />sediment buildup, skimmer and structure <br />conditions, litter, vegetation, and <br />visual water quality. <br />PRACTICE: Street Sweeping <br />MINIMUM STANDARD: Semi-annually, following snowmelt and in <br />fall after leaves have fallen. <br />PRACTICE: Catch Basin Cleaning. <br />MINIMUM STANDARD: Frequency to prevent encroachment of <br />sediment and debris above flow line of <br />pipe. <br />PRACTICE: Inspection of Direct Storm Sewer <br />Discharge Points to protected wetlands <br />or waterbodies <br />MINIMUM STANDARD: Inspection on bi-annual basis and <br />following large storm events to <br />determine if discharge point is free <br />from sediment and to observe the <br />condition of any treatment facility if <br />applicable. <br />PRACTICE: Removal of Sediment. <br />MINIMUM STANDARD: Based on bi-annual inspections, sediment <br />shall be removed from areas where the <br />sediment impedes the flow path, from <br />areas not designated for sediment <br />4.3 - 1 <br />
