Planning Appplication for <br />hSulti-Tech S��stems. Inc. <br />Facility expansion <br />Submitted October 29, 1993 <br />Introduction <br />The following narrative materials and information are <br />submitted to supplement the plans and Planning Application <br />submitted October 29, 1993 concerning the proposed Multi -Tech <br />Systems, Inc. facility expansion in Mounds View Business Park. <br />In connection with the proposed expansion, Applicant Multi - <br />Tech Systems, Inc., is requesting General Concept and <br />Development Stage Planned Unit Development approvals for the <br />project, and rezoning of the expansion site from B-3, Highway <br />Commercial, to Planned Unit Development (P.U.D.). <br />Project Summary <br />The proposed Multi -Tech Systems, Inc. facility expansion <br />includes a 59,970 square foot two-story brick building <br />addition to be constructed principally on the west end of the <br />existing Multi -Tech Systems facility at 2205 Woodale Drive, <br />and associated parking and site improvements. The <br />architectural style, building materials, landscape treatment <br />and intended uses of the proposed addition are all designed to <br />compliment and mirror the existing Multi -Tech facility. <br />Multi -Tech Systems is a leading manufacturer of computer <br />modems and related communications devices and is the leading <br />employer in the City of Mounds View with 300 current <br />employees. The proposed facility expansion is designed to <br />accommodate Multi-Tech's anticipated continuing busienss <br />growth and development in a high -image corporate headquarters <br />facility. <br />The expansion facility will be built by Everest Construction <br />Company, for ownership by Multi -Tech Systems, Inc. <br />
