PROCLAMATION <br /> 1992- 1993 STAY IN SCHOOL - STAY OFF <br /> DRUGS - BE ALL YOU CAN BE YEAR IN THE <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> WHEREAS, The National School Board Association estimates one million <br /> students drop out of school each year; and <br /> WHEREAS, another twenty-one million are at risk of failing out; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Gallup Poll has concluded Americans believe drug use <br /> and lack of discipline are the top two problems facing education today; and <br /> WHEREAS, the U.S. Army has initiated, for a third year, a program that <br /> speaks directly to the need to succeed in school and get a diploma; and <br /> WHEREAS, Army recruiters in the great Metropolitan Area are on the <br /> frontline in the battle as role models and mentors to help students "Stay In <br /> School" and "Stay Off Drugs"; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Army recruiters in the Metropolitan Area, have again <br /> launched a "Stay in School - Stay Off Drugs" campaign targeted at students, <br /> educators, employers, and the media. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, JEROME W. LINKE, MAYOR OF TI It CITY OF <br /> MOUNDS VIEW, MINNESOTA, do hereby proclaim school term 1992-1993 as <br /> STAY IN SCHOOL/STAY OFF DRUGS - BE ALL YOU CAN BE YEAR in the City <br /> of Mounds View, and I commend this observance to the people of this area. <br /> IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the <br /> Seal of the City of Mounds View to be affixed on this 10 day of August, 1992. <br /> Jerome W.
