REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 1 <br /> �M�IoD�S <br /> STAFF REPORT Report Number: 92-359WS <br /> AGENDA SESSION DATE September 8, 1992 Report Date: 9-3-92 <br /> DISPOSITION <br /> Item Description: Environmental Quality Task Force Presentation Regarding Findings From <br /> Garbage and Recycling Study <br /> Administrator's Review/Recommendation: <br /> - No comments to supplement this report <br /> - Comments attached. <br /> Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.) <br /> SUMMARY: <br /> On July 14, 1992, the City Council requested that the <br /> Environmental Quality Task Force (EQTF) conduct a study of the <br /> city's options with respect to garbage and recycling collection. <br /> Attached are their recommendations. for the city, which touch on <br /> four areas: Waste Reduction and Reuse, Recycling, Composting, <br /> and Garbage Disposal. Several members of the EQTF will be in <br /> attendance at the Work Session to present the recommendation to <br /> the Council. <br /> Please note that if the Council wishes to adopt the EQTF's <br /> recommendations in full, there are some time limitations if there <br /> is to be a city-wide recycling program on line by January 1993 . <br /> These limitations will be more fully explained at the work <br /> session if deemed appropriate by the Council.
