REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 6
CMOS
STAFF REPORT Report Number: 92-409WS
10-29-9 2
Date:
AGENDA SESSION DATE November 2, 1992 Report -
DISPOSITION
Item Description: Discussion Regarding Stationery Costs
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
,SUMMARY;
A few weeks ago I received a phone call from a new Mounds View resident,
Dan Moon. He is a printer in the Metro area and called to let us know that
we could save money by using a one color logo on our stationary rather than
the two color (black and blue) currently being used.
I asked Mr. Moon to relay this information in a letter with any other
ideas. I asked Michele to obtain cost comparisons from our new printer
(also a Mounds View resident) . Changing to a one color logo (blue) would
save the City money. I will have the estimates at the Monday meeting.
Mr. Moon's phone call (and follow-up letter which I believe was sent to
each one of you) is an example of a resident who is making an effort to
help the City realize a cost savings in something as simple as our printing
costs. I believe involvement such as this should be rewarded much the same
as what we did for Multi-Tech in their Public-Private Partnershp Award.
I have put this on the agenda for general discussion because it presents
an opportunity for encouraging this kind of positive input from our
residents.
Samantha Orduno, City Adminis ator
RECOMMENDATION:
