The 2 <br /> staff cars are anticipated to yield an additional $2,500 to <br /> $3 ,000. Review of State bids for new vehicles indicates that a <br /> minimum of $9,500 would be needed for 1 staff car. Staff has also <br /> checked with fleet sales (Avis) and found that the best price is <br /> currently $8,400 for a 1992 Dodge Spirit. A possible option would <br /> be to purchase used vehicles through a dealer. <br /> In accordance with Council discussion on October 5, 1992, staff <br /> recommends the purchase of 2 used cars for staff vehicles. The <br /> cars would be in the Cavalier Spirit - Tiempo class and the <br /> total cost would not exceed $20,000. 1 <br /> s <br /> Ri -4:--c 'ne or <br /> City Engineer/Director of Public Works <br /> RECOMMENDATION; Staff recommends the Council authorize purchase of <br /> 2 cars at a cost not to exceed $20,000, to be funded from acct. <br /> no. 100-4260-704 and a transfer of additional funds as necessary <br /> from acct. no. 100-4500-910 to acct. no. 100-4260-704. <br />
