° Agenda Section: 9.A <br /> 11 <br /> 111796REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Report Number: 92-403CReport Date: 10-8-92 <br /> � STAFF REPORT Council Action: <br /> ❑ Special Order of Business <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE October 13, 1992 ❑ Public Hearings <br /> ❑ Consent Agenda <br /> Ea Council Business <br /> Item Description: Consideration of Resolution No. 4290 Approving/Denying the Sign Area Variance <br /> Request by Paster Enterprises for the Property Located at 2577 Highway 10, Planning Case 350-92 <br /> Administrator's Review/Recommendation: frrvjC <br /> - No comments to supplement this report <br /> - Comments attached. <br /> Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.) <br /> SUMMARY; <br /> Paster Enterprises, representing Budget Liquor, has made application for <br /> a variance to allow for signage in excess of City allowed size requirements <br /> at 2577 Highway 10 (Mounds View Square) . <br /> Chapter 39 of the Mounds View Municipal Code allows for up to 100 square <br /> feet of sign area per business occupant in the form of a wall sign. The <br /> applicant has proposed two(2) signs - each approximately 185 square feet <br /> in area - to be located on the South and West sides of the building. The <br /> plans indicate that both signs will be illuminated. <br /> Staff has reviewed the proposal against other sections of the Municipal <br /> Code and found the request to be in compliance with all applicable <br /> requirements other than those governing the aforementioned variance. <br /> The Mounds View Planning Commission, at a special October 1, 1992 meeting, <br /> reviewed and denied the request as proposed. At this time, the applicant <br /> is exercising his right of appeal of that decision to the City Council as <br /> allowed by the Municipal Code. <br /> I have included a copy of all materials received as a part of the <br /> application.
