DEPARTMENTAL BUDGET NARRATIVE <br /> FUND: General <br /> DEPARTMENT: Fire <br /> DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVE <br /> The objective of the Fire Department is to provide efficient and effective fire <br /> protection. <br /> DEPARTMENT ACTIVII'thS <br /> The Fire Department provides for the City's share of the funding for the Blaine- <br /> Spring Lake Park-Mounds View Fire Department, a tri-city operated volunteer fire <br /> department funded by a joint powers agreement between the three cities. The <br /> Department provides fire protection to three cities and the Anoka County-Blaine <br /> Airport through a Contract for Fire Protection Services and an annual budget. <br /> DEPARTMENT COALS <br /> The goal of the Fire Department is to provide the best level of fire protection <br /> possible for the residents of Mounds View. <br /> DEPARTMENT EXPENDITURE COMMENTS <br /> The 1992 Budget for the Fire Department is a slight decrease over the 1992 Budget <br /> due to an anticipated reduction in the number of calls which factor into the <br /> expenditure-formula Tete-Depaftment's Capital-Outlay-for_the ext-several-years <br /> will be paid from the proceeds of a General Obligation Bond Issue approved by <br /> voters in 1990. <br />
