<br />Item No: 08E <br />Meeting Date: January 22, 2007 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />City Administrator Review: _____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 7009 Approving a One-Day Charitable <br />Gambling Permit for the Pinewood Elementary School <br />to conduct a Raffle on March 4, 2007, at the Pinewood <br />Elementary School located at 5500 Quincy Street in <br />Mounds View. <br /> <br />The Pinewood Elementary PTA would like to hold a raffle event at the Pinewood Elementary <br />School on March 4, 2007. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Pinewood Elementary <br />PTA. The State Gambling Board has indicated that it does not see a conflict in allowing a raffle <br />at the Pinewood Elementary School as long as the municipality is agreeable. <br /> <br />Attached is a LG 220 Application for Exempt Permit from the State of Minnesota for lawful <br />gambling, and exempt status from the Department of Revenue. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve attached Resolution 7009. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Desaree Crane <br />
