Mounds View City Council January 2, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 6 <br /> <br />Ms. Walsh-Kaczmarek indicated that the second thing that is near and dear to her heart are the 1 <br />parks of the City. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mayor Marty asked if the City could consider increasing the Planning Commission membership 4 <br />as was done in 1998 when there was a lot of interest. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Director Ericson indicated that there were issues with having a quorum when there were nine 7 <br />members. He then said that for a while there were no interested applicants. He further said that 8 <br />the City Code would need to be amended to allow for the number of Commissioners to be 9 <br />changed. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Marty asked Staff to place this on the work session in February for consideration. He then 12 <br />thanked all the applicants. 13 <br /> 14 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Mueller. To Go to the Ballot Process. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Council Member Stigney clarified that the top three get the three year spots and the next is the 17 <br />one year term. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mayor Marty appointed City Administrator Ulrich and Community Development Director 20 <br />Ericson as tellers. 21 <br /> 22 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 23 <br /> 24 <br />City Administrator Ulrich counted the ballots and announced the results of the top vote getters. 25 <br />They were Keith Cramblit, Todd Lang, Mary Kay Walsh-Kaczmarek, and Sherry Gunn gets the 26 <br />one year term. 27 <br /> 28 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6994, 29 <br />Appointments to the Planning Commission. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Council Member Flaherty suggested inviting the Planning Commission to the work session to 34 <br />discuss increasing the member numbers. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Council agreed. 37 <br /> 38 <br />8.
