Agenda Section: 9.6 <br /> OUMDDS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Report Number: 92-1/5C <br /> Report Date: 2-6-92 <br /> fEW STAFF REPORT Council Action: <br /> ❑ Special Order of Business <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE February 10, 1992 ❑ Public Hearings <br /> E Consent Agenda <br /> Cf Council Business <br /> Item Description: <br /> City Hall Remodeling <br /> Administrator's Review/Recommendation: <br /> - No comments to supplement this report <br /> - Comments attached. <br /> Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.) <br /> SUMMARY; <br /> I have reviewed the suggestions for rearranging the Administra- <br /> tive Office area, as discussed at the work session, February 3 . <br /> I have had some additional measurements taken for carpeting, and <br /> included the Parks and Recreation office area. There were also <br /> requests for insulating exterior walls where possible prior to <br /> carpeting being installed. Additionally, window blinds in the <br /> office areas currently without window treatments and some office <br /> furniture were included in the estimate. The total estimated cost <br /> is $20,875. <br /> In the short time available, it is not possible to arrive at <br /> exact dollar costs. I have attempted to be conservative, but I <br /> would suggest a small amount of contingency be included. I be- <br /> lieve that the total cost of this work should not exceed $23,000. <br /> I have not included any mechanical system upgrades or major <br /> equipment replacements. At this time, it would be nearly <br /> impossible to determine these needs. In the future, some changes <br /> to the heating and cooling systems will be necessary. I felt that <br /> this would more appropriately be included with any major <br /> remodeling of the Police area or else handled as a separate <br /> contract. <br /> Ric ' netor <br /> City Engineer/Director of Public Works <br /> RtECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends that Council authorize expenditures not to <br /> exceed $23,000 to rearrange and re-carpet the general office and <br /> parks and recreation office areas,to be charged to the City Hall <br /> Improvement Fund. <br />
