Mounds View City Council February 12, 2007 Regular Meeting Page 4 1 Council Member Mueller indicated that it appears on the Survey that Parcel B would be 90.5 feet 2 wide by 177 feet deep and asked if that is consistent with other lots in the City. 3 4 Director Ericson indicated that there are a wide variety of lot sizes in the City. He then said that 5 this would be larger than some of the lots in the City, and this block has some of the larger lots. 6 7 Randy XXXXX said that if this zoning for the Church goes through, he would expect to come to 8 the City for a rezoning as well. 9 10 Mayor Marty indicated that his concern would be that Parcel A would not be compliant with 10 11 feet of frontage on Eastwood Road, and it almost seems to him that this should be handled under 12 the major subdivision requirements. 13 14 Council Member Flaherty clarified that the issue with the power lines needs to be handled, and 15 then he said that he agreed that this is a major subdivision as it is being merged into a six plus 16 acre lot. 17 18 MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7013, a 19 Resolution Denying a Minor Subdivision of 8184 Eastwood Road. 20 21 Council Member Stigney said that the argument to save the trees is needed, but does not hold 22 weight with him as he does not think that someone would buy the house and cut the trees down. 23 He then said that he does not think it is necessary for the Church to keep the trees to sell this 24 property. 25 26 Director Ericson suggested rather than denying the Resolution that a separate Resolution of 27 denial that has been prepared be considered. 28 29 Council Member Mueller indicated that she would be hesitant to approve something where there 30 are outstanding issues with the adjacent residents. 31 32 Mayor Marty said that he does not think that it is reasonable to suggest that someone would cut 33 down the trees as their view would become the parking lot. He then said that he has received 34 calls and letters concerning the future development of the area and that concerns him. 35 36 Council Member Flaherty indicated that the reason there are Codes is to keep things uniform for 37 all residents and he does not support going against the Code to allow this. 38 39 Council Member Stigney agreed to use the substitute Resolution to deny. 40 41 Council Member Mueller asked what happens if the Church wants to come back for a 42 subdivision moving the line right down the middle. 43 44
