Mayor Linke explained that the City <br /> can't afford to be short sited. The choice is to buy now or <br /> buy later at an increased and inflated price. <br /> Samantha Orduno informed the residents that the building was <br /> being remodeled entirely by staff rather than building an addition as <br /> was recommended by the Space Needs Study. A question was brought forth <br /> regarding lay off of City staff and employees and in the past only part <br /> time employees had been layed off. Orduno stated that the Building <br /> Inspector had been cut from full time to half time. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Rickaby/Wuori to approve the purchase of an <br /> HP IIID Laser Printer from Dodd Technical Corporation of <br /> St. Paul at a Cost of $2,594 to be charged against account <br /> #100-4190-703 . <br /> 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> PORTS <br /> Report of Councilmembers: <br /> Councilmember Wuori: Congratulated Sharie Linke and Jan Quick <br /> for the Appreciation Reception. This was a well planned event <br /> • and all who attended had a good time. This event was not <br /> financed at all by the City. <br /> Councilmember Quick: Had received a question from a fellow <br /> worker regarding the Surface Water Management Plan and why <br /> the City had changed it. It appears that the fellow worker <br /> misunderstood a statement made by Councilmember Rickaby at <br /> a prev_iaus_meeting ret}ardinc -the ra sof—rater—leav- ng-t-he -- <br /> City. <br /> Councilmember Blanchard: No report. <br /> Councilmember Rickaby: No report. <br /> Report of Mayor: Mayor Linke commented that the Community Services <br /> Award was given o norothy _Peterson-,__Fmance- ------ - <br /> Department, and twenty-five year employee of the <br /> City, at the Appreciation Reception. Dorothy <br /> received this award for twenty-five years of service <br /> as an employee of the City but also for all the things <br /> • she does in the community. Congratulations to Dorothy! <br />
