Orduno also encouraged the two spokespersons for the Robert's group <br /> to feel free to call the City Offices if they have any questions. <br /> Mayor Linke asked Roxanne Jackson to provide him with the additional photos <br /> by Monday's meeting if possible. <br /> Roger Stigney, 8400 Eastwood Road, stated that he read in the New Brighton <br /> Bulletin and in the Focus that the City was going to spend $5,800 for a <br /> survey. Mr. Stigney wondered if this was a wise expenditure of the <br /> taxpayers money for 400 people to comment on the survey_ Mr_ Stigney stated <br /> that the questions could be asked in the Newsletter at less cost and get <br /> more answers. This would be a more cost effective way of getting the <br /> answers. <br /> Mayor Linke stated that this issue had been discussed before. Mayor Linke <br /> further stated that from previous experience the City would not receive 400 <br /> answers back. This survey will give the Council a true cross section of the <br /> City. <br /> Brad Jahnke stated that this survey would be asked of 400 people. Mr. <br /> Jahnke wondered what the questions would be. Mr. Jahnke stated that he was <br /> at the public hearing where many residents were upset and more than one <br /> Akerson volunteered to make sure the survey would get to more than 400 people <br /> lipt charge. Mayor Linke stated that the questions and how the survey was <br /> going to be conducted was discussed at a past meeting before the vote was <br /> taken. <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, was called on by Mayor Linke to explain <br /> the 'survey. Orduno responded that the questions and the survey format would <br /> be discussed at Monday night's meeting. Orduno further went on to explain <br /> what type of questions would be asked. Orduno further stated that at the <br /> meeting on the budget there were 42 concerned residents or groups in the <br /> audience. The City of Mounds View has 13,000 people and if you eliminate an <br /> estimated number of children, there are approximately 10,000 adults in <br /> y- w u ofd.-0;0-00 is not a good representative sample. <br /> By doing a random, scientific sur ey t_h_e—City will receive an accurate <br /> cross section of responses. The survey will be answered by those persons who <br /> are not single issue persons . The results of the survey will be a clear <br /> mandate of what the services the citizens feel can be cut or what the <br /> citizens want to see eliminated. <br /> Mr. Jahnke wanted to know who will decide what questions would be on the <br /> questionnaire, could it include salaries, severance and the laying off of <br /> personnel? <br /> Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, encouraged Mr. Jahnke to attend Monday <br /> night's meeting if he wanted input into the survey questions. <br /> WJahnke stated that everyone wants to be a ,government worker because <br /> eir jobs are guaranteed for life. <br />
