Mounds View City Council May 14, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Mueller asked whether the doors of the shed are operational as she would like 2 <br />to keep the shed doors closed and secured so that kids do not take advantage of it. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Mayor Marty indicated he has received numerous letters and calls about this property for a while 5 <br />now. He then said that this has been chronic since 2002 and it concerns him how much Staff 6 <br />time this requires. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Mayor Marty said that certain items being done to the home are required to have permits to 9 <br />ensure that things are done properly and fencing is one of them. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Marty agreed that it would be a good idea to keep the shed closed and locked for safety 12 <br />reasons. 13 <br /> 14 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Flaherty/Mueller. To Postpone Action Until May 29, 2007 to Allow Time 15 <br />for an Inspection. 16 <br /> 17 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 18 <br /> 19 <br />F. Resolution 7071, Consideration of a Suspension of a Multiple Dwelling 20 <br />License 7750 Silver Lake Road 21 <br /> 22 <br />Housing Inspector Anderson explained that at the April 23, 2007 meeting Council postponed for 23 <br />follow up inspection. He then said that since the last meeting he has been in contact with the 24 <br />contractors that obtained a permit for roof replacement and they have started the work out there. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Inspector Anderson indicated that the property is not in compliance but they are taking steps to 27 <br />replace the roof. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Inspector Anderson suggested giving the property owner 14 calendar days to complete the roof 30 <br />repair and repairs to the dwelling that needs the ceiling replaced. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Council and Staff discussed allowing the property owner 14 calendar days to complete all the 33 <br />necessary repairs. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Director Ericson suggested adding language to the Resolution to require that the license be 36 <br />suspended if the corrective actions are not taken by May 29, 2007. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council agreed. 39 <br /> 40 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Hull.
