He then said that Staff feels that 6:00 a.m. is a little early and this amendment to 1 <br />the Ordinance would bring this portion of the ordinance more in line with the nuisance ordinance 2 <br />Relating to noise. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Staff reviewed the proposed language changes and suggested allowing work on Sundays from 5 <br />10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. rather than prohibiting it completely to give flexibility to residents who 6 <br />do want to work on their home but provide some assurance that the next door neighbor would not 7 <br />be awakened by the construction noise. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Stigney said that a lot of roofing takes place over the weekends so he has an 10 <br />issue with limiting timing because if they are doing a roof that needs to go until it is done. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Director Ericson said that the Code does not presently allow working on your house on Sundays 13 <br />right now. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Flaherty said that he hates to legislate when people can work on their own 16 <br />homes so he is okay with Monday through Sunday. 17 <br /> 18 <br />David Jahnke of 8428 Eastwood Road said that work is done on weekends now and neighbors do 19 <br />not seem to have an issue with it. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Mueller suggested sunup to sundown. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Council Member Flaherty would prefer the 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council agreed with the 7:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. Sunday times. 26 <br /> 27 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. First Reading and Introduction of Ordinance 792, an Ordinance Amending 34 <br />Chapter 1202 (Subdivision Plats and Procedures) of the Mounds View 35 <br />Municipal Code 36 <br /> 37 <br />Community Development Director Ericson explained that this would provide a way for the City 38 <br />to require other conditions if they are reasonable and related to the project. Staff and the City 39 <br />Attorney is recommending approval of introduction of this Ordinance. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Council Member Mueller asked whether someone could suggest that the City used aesthetics to 42 <br />discriminate against the project. 43 <br /> 44
