Mounds View City Council Page Si <br /> Regular Meeting May 11, 19 <br /> solid waste collection and recycling. The most important reason for <br /> looking into this area is to standardize recycling throughout the <br /> City. <br /> MOTION/SECOND Quick/Wuori to set public hearing to Consider <br /> a Resolution of Intent to Organize Collection of solid waste and <br /> recyclable materials for June 8, 1992. <br /> Councilmember Quick asked if the City will receive state funding? <br /> Asleson stated that the City must find its own funding reserves. <br /> If the City does the billing it needs to find its own funding. <br /> Councilmember Quick stated that this is another mandate with no <br /> funding to support it. Quick further stated that this is a <br /> worthwhile demand on our meager resources. <br /> Orduno stated that it is one more expenditure of staff time with <br /> regulating, observation and enforcement which translates into <br /> dollars. Everyone will participate. <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 2 . Michele Severson, Deputy Clerk, reviewed Staff Report No. 92-271C • <br /> regarding the consolidation of the existing four precincts in the <br /> City of Mounds View into one single precinct. Severson stated that <br /> the consolidation of the four precincts into one single precinct <br /> would bring a cost savings to the City. Costs would be cutback <br /> in the hiring of election judges, the printing of forms, the <br /> programming of tabulators and the use of one Chairperson and one Co- <br /> Chair vs. hiring a chairperson for each precinct. <br /> MOTION/SECOND: Blanchard/Rickaby to adopt Resolution No. 4225 <br /> Consolidating the Existing Four Precincts in the City of Mounds <br /> V-i-ew-4 t-o-One--S i-g l e-Preccinct <br /> VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br /> 3 . Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry reviewed <br /> Staff Report No. 92-272C regarding Mounds View's Share of Expenditures <br /> for Architectural Services for Regional Senior Center. Saarion went <br /> through the history of the formation of the Regional Senior Center Task <br /> Force. Mounds View's share is $1, 611. Saarion stated that this <br /> funding would come from the savings which occurred from contract for <br /> the recodificaton of the City Code. <br /> Councilmember Rickaby stated that she had no problem with the approval <br /> of the money, but with the fast track this item is on. Rickaby stated <br /> that it is coming at the wrong time and she would like to see it slow", <br /> down so that it doesn't come at the same time as the budget crunch. <br />
