Mounds View City Council June 25, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br />Council Member Mueller asked which unit the Staff would prefer. 1 <br /> 2 <br />Assistant to the Administrator Crane said that she would like to go with Minnesota Mailing 3 <br />Solutions because, if she wants to add a piece of equipment to the one she has, she would only 4 <br />have to buy it rather than going out for quotes. 5 <br /> 6 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Flaherty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7079, 7 <br />Approving the Purchase of a New Postage Machine from Minnesota Mailing Solutions as 8 <br />Recommended by Staff. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Council Member Stigney said that, as a general rule, anytime you are looking at changing 11 <br />something a call should be made to ask them to meet the quote or ask to lower the bid. 12 <br /> 13 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that Staff would attempt to do so with any future contracts. 14 <br /> 15 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 16 <br /> 17 <br /> H. Resolution 7099, Step Increases for Don Burda, Full Time Temporary 18 <br />Building Inspector 19 <br /> 20 <br />City Administrator Ulrich read Resolution 7099. 21 <br /> 22 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Stigney. To Approve Resolution 7099, Step Increases for Don 23 <br />Burda, Full Time Temporary Building Inspector. 24 <br /> 25 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> I. Resolution 7102, Authorizing Use of Neighborhood Dispute Services 28 <br /> 29 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that the Police Department brought this up as an alternative 30 <br />dispute resolution service that can assist with neighborhood disputes. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Council Member Stigney said that in the Resolution it states that there is a contract in an amount 33 <br />not to exceed $500.00. He is wondering if the City will have to pay the $500.00 if the services 34 <br />are not needed. 35 <br /> 36 <br />City Administrator Ulrich said that it would be an hourly situation and not a retainer. He then 37 <br />said that the amount is for approximately one session. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Council Member Stigney asked who would be asked to go to this session. 40 <br /> 41 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that he would ask the owners and renters in this case. 42 <br /> 43
