Mounds View City Council July 23, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Mueller asked whether there were fees paid for the conditional use permit when 2 <br />it was granted previously. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Community Development Director Ericson said that they paid some sort of fee for the permit. 5 <br />Director Ericson said that he would change the language to a one year extension rather than a two 6 <br />year extension. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Stigney asked what the fee would be to reapply for the conditional use permit. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Director Ericson explained that the fee for the conditional use permit would be $175.00. 11 <br /> 12 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Flaherty. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7118, 13 <br />Approving an Extension for a conditional use permit for an oversize garage at 2932 Woodale 14 <br />Drive, as Amended to Allow a One Year Extension. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 17 <br /> 18 <br />F. Resolution 7120, Authorizing Out of State Training for the Chief of Police 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether this is an annual requirement. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Chief Sommer explained that the requirement is for every two years. Chief Sommer said that he 23 <br />has not been since he came to the City, due to the expense of the training and costs associated 24 <br />with going out of state for training. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Council Member Stigney asked what the certification does within Mounds View or within the 27 <br />twin cities area. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Chief Sommer explained that this is for law enforcement polygraph investigations within the City 30 <br />of Mounds View; however, it is not used very often. Chief Sommer said that there are only four 31 <br />licensed examiners within the state. 32 <br /> 33 <br />Mayor Marty asked if there was a way to contract the polygraph services out to other law 34 <br />enforcement agencies. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Chief Sommer said that the City gets services from Ramsey County that the City does not pay 37 <br />for, so he could make his services available to them on a cooperative agreement basis, but he 38 <br />would not recommend charging for his services. 39 <br /> 40 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7120, 41 <br />Authorizing Out of State Training for the Chief of Police. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Stigney said that he would like the Chief to keep track of cost benefits of 44 <br />having this certification for when this is considered next time. 45
