Reports of Staff 5 <br /> 6 <br />Administrator Ulrich explained that he met with the parties involved in the 8310 Eastwood 7 <br />situation. Administrator Ulrich said he felt the meeting was positive and progress was made. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Administrator Ulrich explained that the interview panel has narrowed the Cable Coordinator 10 <br />candidates down to three. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Community Development Director Ericson explained that the Comprehensive Plan kickoff 13 <br />meeting was last week and they set goals for the committee and outlined how the process would 14 <br />work. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Community Development Director Ericson explained that last week Staff attended the Minn 17 <br />Sharp Flag raising ceremony at Medtronic. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Community Development Director Ericson explained that the deadline for applying is August 3, 20 <br />2007 for the Economic Development Coordinator position. Staff will review and bring a 21 <br />candidate forward for consideration. 22 <br /> 23 <br /> 1. Review Potential Parcel Acquisition at Woodcrest and Silver Lake 24 <br /> Road 25 <br /> 26 <br />Community Development Director Ericson explained that Amelia Sullivan, a long time resident 27 <br />with a 1.5 acre lot, is concerned that she is having an issue with diseased trees. Director Ericson 28 <br />explained that he discussed with her the area the City is interested in an easement over. Director 29 <br />Ericson explained that Ms. Sullivan is interested in selling the property, and Staff is asking 30 <br />whether the City is interested in purchasing the property. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Mayor Marty asked what the appraised value of the property is. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Director Ericson explained that Ramsey County assesses the property at about $34,000. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Mayor Marty asked what amount Ms. Sullivan was assessed for tree removal. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Director Ericson said that it was a very large amount, as it was a difficult removal. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Mayor Marty suggested a deal of $30,000 and the City would forgive the amount that was 41 <br />assessed for tree removal. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Director Ericson said that Ms. Sullivan has already paid the bill for tree removal. 44 <br /> 45
