Crane, Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Public Hearing for Second Reading and Adoption of <br />Ordinance 799, an Ordinance Approving an Amendment to <br />Chapter 12, Section 12.01 of the City Charter <br /> <br /> <br />Attached is Ordinance 799, an Ordinance Amending Chapter 12, Section 12.01 of the <br />Mounds View City Charter. The intent of the Charter Commission with this amendment is <br />to clarify language in the City Charter relating to Official Publication. <br /> <br />Consistent with state law, the ordinance would go into effect 90 days after unanimously <br />being adopted by the City Council. This second reading was originally scheduled for a <br />public hearing on September 10, 2007, but due to the absence of one Council Member <br />the City postponed the public hearing to the September 24th meeting. The first reading of <br />this Ordinance was approved at the August 27, 2007, City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends the City Council open the public hearing for public comment and <br />approve Ordinance 799.
