Mounds View City Council September 10, 2007 <br />Regular Meeting Page 14 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Mayor Marty read a memorandum from Kennedy & Graven concerning Change Order No 37 2 <br />Acceptance of City Hall project regarding insulation of the pipes. Mayor Marty indicated that 3 <br />SEH should have caught this, and this has cost the City an additional $5,000. 4 <br /> 5 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 7151, 6 <br />Approving Change Order No. 37 and Acceptance and Final Payment Approval for the City Hall 7 <br />Rehabilitation Project. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Council Member Stigney asked for the status of the signage. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Public Works Director Lee indicated that the silver lettering has been received, and SEH is 12 <br />paying for that as well as the installation. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Council Member Stigney said that he would like to see this signage, and he is not sure that he 15 <br />will like what SEH proposes. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council asked whether there would be any recourse if the City does not like the proposed 18 <br />lettering. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Director Lee indicated that there will be no recourse to the contractor on this. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Stigney said that he has a question on who is responsible for the block work on 23 <br />the outside as it does not blend. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council discussed holding off on paying this until the block work and the sign issues are 26 <br />resolved. 27 <br /> 28 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Marty. To Amend Resolution 7151 to Hold Off Until the Issue 29 <br />with the Brick Work is Resolved. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Council Member Stigney said he would like to have this addressed in some sort of fashion 32 <br />without the need to go to arbitration. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Council Member Stigney said he would like to hold the contractor to another acid wash to make 35 <br />the brick match. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Council Member Mueller asked whether the delay means the City has accepted the work. 38 <br /> 39 <br /> Ayes – 1 Nays – 3 The Amendment Failed. 40 <br /> 41 <br /> Ayes – 3 Nays – 1(Stigney) Original Motion carried. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Stigney asked Staff to request an acid wash to try to blend the brick and to 44 <br />discuss the sign letters. 45
