6 <br />2401 County Highway 10 <br />Mounds View, MN 55112 <br />Ramsey County <br />National Night Out <br /> <br />National Night out was held this quarter in August We had a good turn out this year with 27 block <br />parties held at various locations in the city. The National Night Out provides an opportunity for <br />neighbors to get together and socialize, and to send a signal that crime is not tolerated. Over the summer we took part in two Special Traffic <br />Enforcement Waves. <br /> <br />During July and August we had the “7 Days of Speed” in which officers worked seven <br />3-hour shifts concentrating on speed enforcement. During these 7 shifts officer issued 25 speed <br />citations and 9 warnings. <br /> <br />The most recent Wave was just completed over Labor Day week was a DWI enforcement wave. <br />During the 15 extra enforcement shifts worked, officers arrested 7 people for DWI. The Blood Alcohol <br />Concentration (BAC) levels ranged from .09 to .25 One underage person was arrested under the Not a <br />Drop Statute with a BAC of .128. <br /> <br />October brings the first wave of the 2007-2008 Grant period, which will be focusing on Seat Belt <br />usage. <br /> <br />Gun Safety Course <br /> <br />Officers of the Mounds View Police Department taught the DNR gun safety course this quarter for <br />youth in the community. This highly sought after course teaches students firearm safety, and allows <br />them to obtain the DNR certification necessary for hunting in the state. <br /> <br />Financial Report <br />Attached
