Item No. 06A & B <br />Meeting Date: May 7, 2007 <br />Type of Business: WK <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review _______ <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> <br />Item Title/Subject: Charter Resolution 2007-01, Discuss Proposed Revisions <br />to Chapter 3 and Chapter 5 of the Mounds View City <br />Charter. <br /> Review Petition Provisions for Public Improvements <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Revisions were made by the Charter Commission to Chapter 3 (Council Procedure) and <br />Chapter 5 (Initiative, Referendum and Recall) to the City Charter. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />The Mounds View Charter Commission is requesting the City Council to review the <br />changes to these two chapters. If the City Council approves these changes, then Staff <br />will start the process of revising the City Charter by Ordinance adoption. Attached is <br />Charter Commission Resolution 2007-01, which outlines the changes in the chapters. <br />Also attached is Scott Riggs comments. <br /> <br />In addition to this discussion, there have been questions raised by the City Council on <br />the petition provisions for public improvements.
