Item No: 01A Meeting Date: November 5, 2007 Type of Business: Work Session Administrator Review: _____ City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Desaree Crane, Assistant to the City Administrator Item Title/Subject: Televising of City Council Meetings The Mounds View Cable Committee would like to discuss with the City Council about the possibility of limiting the televising of Mounds View Meetings. Currently the City of Mounds View televises all city meetings. Many cities limit their cable televising to only a few city meetings. Below are some examples below of what other cities televise. The Mounds View Cable Committee would like to open discussion to the City Council on this subject. At the Mounds View Cable Committee Work Session in October, the Cable Committee made the suggestion of televising only the City Council, Planning Commission, Park and Recreation, and Economic Development Authority meetings, and possibly not televise the Work Sessions, Charter Commission, Cable Committee and advisory committees to name a few. A representative from the Mounds View Cable Committee will be present to discuss this issue.
